Learning to read poetry

In 2005, while I was at Sage Hill Writing for the first time, my Intro to Poetry & Fiction instructors Phil Hall and Sue Goyette gave each of us a book. They put a plain brown book in my hands. That book was Jan Zwicky’s Songs for Relinquishing the Earth, published by Brick Books. It changed my life.
